At HI/ Cattle Co. we always keep two mottos in mind. The first is Cattle with Grit. Hardiness is at the top of our priority list. Our cattle are not pampered and spoon fed. Our seedstock herd management closely mirrors what we expect from our commercial cow/calf herd. If a papered cow can’t cut it under the same environment, inputs and expectations we have for our cow/calf herd, then she adds no value to the industry, and you won’t find her here for long.

When making breeding decisions we also focus on providing a higher balance. We reject the philosophy that cattle are either maternal or terminal and instead endeavor to improve the traits that matter whether you sell at weaning or on the grid, while keeping all things in balance. Ranchers need a live calf on the ground every year and the nation needs beef. We aim to do both.
